Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Your website is your most important marketing tool!

PUT IT TO WORK FOR YOU NOW!

Q: I'm not receiving the website traffic and sales I hoped for...why?
A: There could be several reasons, and to find the right answer you need to consider a few things: Do you know how many people are visiting your site? Do you know how they find your site? Which pages are they spending the most time viewing? These are just a few examples of some crucial information that you really need to know about your website.

A website can be an incredibly powerful marketing tool. But, in its raw (un-optimized) form a website just isn’t visible enough to your potential customers. There are at least 25 billion web pages on the internet. How will a potential client, searching for your products or services at this very moment, find your website? Most people use Google and other search engines the way we all used to use the phone book. But when using search engines, we typically only see 10-12 listings on each page of search results. Since the search engines are very efficient, its likely we’ll find what we want on the first 2 or 3 pages of search results. If your web page is listed on page 4, or even farther down the list...chances are that few people will ever see your listing.

Q: How do I improve the search engine placement of my pages?
A: The application of Search Engine Optimization techniques to your web pages can boost their search engine positioning, and that means more people are more likely to see your listing. This added visibility helps customers find your site.

Having an un-optimized website
is like having a sales manager asleep on the job

Q: I’ve heard of SEO, but doesn’t it cost an arm-and-a-leg?
A: Not necessarily. It really depends on how much competition you have for your products, and how well your competitors' sites are optimized. If you’re selling a very common product, you’ll likely have a high level of competition for top placement on the search results pages. Considering the added visibility and sales that can result from placement on the first page of search results, some website owners are willing to pay for the top SEO experts that money can buy in order to secure that kind of search engine placement. Since those experts DO charge an arm-and-a-leg, they can afford to dedicate themselves full-time to doing nothing but SEO for a few well-funded clients. You need to decide how valuable that first page search engine positioning is to you.

On the other hand, if you’re selling something unusual and there aren’t many other sites competing with you in the search results, then the SEO process will be much more affordable. In this case you would have a much higher liklihood of attaining a high search engine placement. Note too that it should always be possible to gain first page search engine placement for some search terms, but for the most coveted search terms you'll have to 'pay-to-play'.

Also, its important to realize that SEO is a process that requires months to complete. The process starts with the collection of baseline data on your current site traffic. Your pages are then optimized, and data is monitored to reveal which pages need further optimization. This process can have repeated cycles of manipulation and analysis of data until a satisfactory result is achieved. There are also other strategies involved, such as directory submission, Google AdWords campaigns, social media, and building links with other sites. The SEO effort can have great effect on your site traffic, but its something that should be revisited periodically even after the initial SEO effort is complete. After all, if your competitors are doing their own SEO, they may overtake you on the search results pages, and without periodic adjustments you may lose the placement you fought to achieve!

Your website is your most important marketing tool! (If you don’t realize that yet, you will by the time I complete my work for you!) But if your customers can’t find your site, you’re missing out on $$$! I can help you track the visitors that are coming to your website, and many aspects of their behavior while they're viewing your pages. The data is easy to collect, but harder to interpret, and harder still to influence! But I can do all of this for you, and more! These aren’t empty claims: when you hire me, I'll first document the traffic you’re getting on your website now, and send you a detailed report. Then I'll document the traffic you get after each month of my SEO efforts. Once you have the "Before" and "After" reports in your hands, you'll see for yourself how great an effect this effort has had upon your website traffic. But by that time, you probably won’t need to see the data; you’ll know what it says by the increased sales and calls coming from your website!
